Importance of Technology Collaboration
I recently posted on our staff technology Facebook page for teachers to share what technology tools and resources they are using in their classrooms. They also shared how they integrate it in their teaching and learning and how it affects student engagement. I had great collaboration happening in this post, and I learned about so many awesome things happening in just our building. I also learned about a couple new tools that I hadn't heard of before and started to implement in my own classroom. This was a quick and easy way to reach out to staff and share with each other the amazing happenings in our teaching. I also learned that these conversations need to be happening so much more often.
We preach to our students how technology is constantly changing. Sometimes we need to practice what we preach and keep up with this change as well. An easy way to do that you might ask? Collaborate with other teachers and find out if there are new tools out there beings used that you might not know about. You might already be using some of the same tools, but there might be a variety of ways to use that tool that you never thought about. I'm definitely thankful for my graduate course because I never would have thought to create a Facebook group with staff members in the building and use that to communicate technology integration for teaching and learning.
